United States Coast Guard Rescue 21 Maritime Distress and Response System
During 2004, Southeastern Communication Service, Inc. was awarded United States Coast Guard Rescue 21 site construction projects under General Dynamics. Rescue 21 will provide the U.S. with a maritime distress and response communication system comparable to state-of-the-art systems in Great Britain and Norway, on a greater geographic scale. The Coast Guard's new system will also rival the land-based systems that many state and local emergency services already have in place. By replacing outdated technology with a fully integrated communication system that bridges inter operability gaps, Rescue 21 boosts the ability to protect boaters and the nation's coasts.
