FDOT Emergency Generator Systems to be installed in support of critical communications on Florida HighwaysSoutheastern Communication Service, Inc. (SECS) was awarded the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) contract to provide critical emergency generator systems and surge protection upgrades for five FDOT microwave communication sites along I-95 and one site located on State Road 6 located in North Florida. These design build projects are kicked off with construction plans for FDOT approval that include the location and installation requirements for the generators, 2,000 gallon underground LP fuel tanks, automatic transfer switches, TVSS devices, grounding, cabling, conduits and fuel lines. The FDOT microwave communication network is critical to life safety and is utilized by State Law Enforcement, emergency rescue personnel and other various agencies.
