SECS Installs Backup Power for Manatee County



Southeastern Communication Service, Inc. was selected to provide and install backup power generation systems for seven primary water lifting stations within Manatee County Florida. The project was awarded by the Manatee County Board of Commissioners due to the critical nature of providing water to the public in the event of natural disasters. Southeastern Communication Service, Inc. was selected to design build six microwave communication sites for the South Florida Water Management District. These sites are critical for control and operation of Florida’s regional water management system, with more than 1,900 miles of canals and levees and hundreds of water control structures, helping to protect regional water supplies and alleviate flooding. Nick Artemik, Project Manager, SECS commented “We are pleased to be part of this very important system that minimizes damage from flooding, provides adequate regional water supply, and protects and restores the environment by optimally operating and maintaining the primary flood control and water supply system".


SECS Installs Wireless Networks at Ports



Southeastern Communication Service, Inc. (SECS) of Sarasota has just completed installation of the wireless components of a inventory tracking system at Port of Lake Charles Louisiana and Port of Pascagoula’s Mississippi. The systems will allow port operations real-time tracking of all products flowing in and out of the two ports. The wireless inventory control system installed works in conjunction with hand held assets units. The Lake Charles Harbor & Terminal District (aka Port of Lake Charles) encompasses 203 square miles in Calcasieu Parish and accommodates 5 million tons of cargo annually at its public The Port of Lake Charles is the 12th largest seaport in the U.S. Bayou Casotte docks are supported by two 175,000 sq. ft. transit sheds and include 50,000 sq. ft. of paved open storage and over 10 acres of unpaved open storage. The system now totals over 30 access points and associated hardware.
